My
Sister Margarita Avilez and her husband Eduardo Avilez are members
of First Assemble with Pastor Cortez. I was invite to attend
of June 17 while you had the healing
campaign, I’m so glad I attended and I thank you for this work
you are doing. I have so much to share as to how God has been
so great to us and how amazing is the way he works in our lives,
but this time I would like to tell you about my little Emily.
My daughter Emily was born on August 12, 2005 after a doctor
had told me that for me and my husband to have a child was 1
in a million chance. When the doctor gave us the news it was
a really sad time but we decided not to try any of the many
methods that are offered out there, however I did ask God to
help us (please keep in mind my husband was born again in 1999
but he is not strong in his faith yet). Sure enough God always
gives us surprises! I was Schedule to have an operation for
endometriosis on November. Of 2004 and after the pre- op appointment
I received a call that I had to come back to get a blood test
done again because they thought I might be pregnant!! The doctor
said “we will not have to do the operation because pregnancy
helps your condition and you are pregnant” God took care of
all.
During the ultrasounds they told us about a possible kidney
condition on the baby and at 6 months. Emily was diagnosed with
vesicourethal reflux; this affects her bladder and left kidney.
She has been on Medication since then, hospitalized 2 times
and gone through many painful tests. On the last test the nephrologists
said that her condition has worsened and that she will need
surgery. I couldn’t believe she was doing so well so far without
infections or fevers. The days went by I didn’t even want to
think at what Emily will have to go through. I asked God to
help me because I was not strong enough to handle this. On the
other hand my husband has always been able to stay calm on all
situations but I could see about this time he was worried. 2
months almost went by and the date to see the surgeon was approaching,
it is then my brother in-law Eduardo invited me to go to a healing
campaign, I knew I had to go, it was the step of faith that
God wanted me to take but most important for my husband to go
as well. I really didn’t know if he would accept to go but he
did. He went, and that night he took Emily in his arms and was
one of the first ones to step forward. Thank you so much to
God, and all of you for this ministry. The next day we went
to the appointment and the surgeon said “evaluating all, I believe
Emily still has a 50/50 chance of outgrowing this problem, no
surgery at this time” This was a time for Joy for me, I knew
God had done his work. Remembering back to her chance of 1 in
a million, now she has a 50/50, that’s nothing for God. We will
go back next year for testing But I know God will continue his
work, I know that night she that she was prayed for, god provided
healing and God touched my husband’s heart. I pray that he will
continue to show me the way he wants me to walk and that he
will let me see my husband come closer to him.
Thanks again. It is for his glory that I share my testimony
and I ask God to help you and bless you everywhere you go.
Sincerely,
Giannina Woods and family.
